Pretty presents make a whole world of a difference! If you are handmaking your gifts or you have taken that extra effort to select a special gift for someone, it would be a pity if it did not look that lovely on the outside. Spend a few minutes extra in making it look beautiful on the outside too.
Brown paper makes some great gift wraps. Easy on pocket and looks amazing. I do a lot of shopping on Amazon/ Souq, best is to reuse that brown paper. You can remove the creases easily by using an iron. I adore the rustic feel of brown paper wrap. Brown paper compliments a lot of colours and its simplicity is what I love!
Today, I have got a lot of easy ideas for brown paper gift wrap. Its a mix which can be used for kids as well as adults. There is a bit of everything – flamingo’s, cacti, polka dot, educational wraps and laces.
Flamingo’s makes everything look pretty especially due to its colours.
What we need:
- 1. Pink/coral/white pompoms
- 2. Pink and black marker
You can see I have used my free hand skills to draw the flamingo. It roughly has to be the same size, doesn’t necessarily need to look identical. If you want them to look identical you can trace them like I did in my personalized pouch project. Though I like that they don’t look identical . Once you have drawn the Flamingo’s you can stick the pom poms in the centre with glue.
Polka dots and doilies are a girls favourite. Pairing them both in this gorgeous gift wrap. A little confetti never harmed anybody.
What we need:
- 1. pink and white confetti
- 2. Pink thick ribbon
- 3. Sisal rope
- 4. doilies
- 5. glue stick
Randomly stick some confetti over the brown paper. Tie a nice bow with the pink ribbon and sisal rope. Attach some doilies as gift tags. Don’t doilies make the cutest gift tags?!
Gift wraps can look good and have an educational value to it. This one is a perfect example for that. While teaching your kids names for fruits or their spellings or vowels it also turns into a beautiful gift wrap. Be creative, and decide stickers according to age group and choices.
What we need:
- 1. Fruit foam stickers (Available in Day to Day)
- 2. Black marker.
Stick the fruit foam stickers and either put fill in the blank for the whole fruit name or vowels.
AJ loves drawing road maps. So when it was time to gift his cousin best friend he insisted he would make something for him. Cute right! Your child can draw anything they like and his friend can colour it eventually.
That’s how he drew the whole Dubai map introducing his city to his friend. Attach a few colour pencils with the gift wrap.
This looks a bit tough but its not. It can take a little more time than the other ideas but its totally worth it! The cacti looks fab on a gift wrap. Anybody with basic drawing skills can get the cacti right. A cactus stamp would also do the trick, I somehow like the hand drawn ones because they look more bright with different shades of green.
What you need:
- 1. All shade of green markers (from doodle to permanent)
- 2. Pink/red marker
- 3. White paint marker
- 4. pom pom lace
Different types of cacti I colored using different markers. They don’t have to be perfect or similar. Once this is done, you will need a white paint marker to add the finishing touches. You will need a fine point green doodle pen too.
A nice pom pom lace or tassel lace can be enough. The colourful laces will stand out on brown gift wrap paper.
Brown paper gift wraps can be used for adults and kids, girls or boys. It has a very universal approach and tends to appeal to everybody. Using dried leaves, stamps, block prints, beautiful gift tags are just few more ways to decorate the brown paper.
